Another find from a while back...
The 06 wrx has the ability to blend between maps 1 and 2. It's very fine blending as well. It is based off of Cruise being set or not, but there are more things at play that are turned off by OEM that cause it to start blending.

Doubt there's much use in the OEM setup, but it's there. Any interest?

so could this be like a fuel quality auto adjust thing with a high/low timing map (regular/super, super/meth) or is it just for boost targets and throttle maps?

There are few map blending variables, one of them (let's call it 'main') 'blends' 12 pairs of maps in my A8DH100F:
    - Target Boost
    - Initial Wastegate Duty
    - OL Primary
    - OL Failsafe
    - Base Timing
    - Timing Advance
(other 6 undefined).
Except it doesn't really blend - one map in pair is unused 2x2 map
There is also map ratio variable for DBW tables and another one, AVCS related.

I have slowly moving project - use OEM map blending to switch maps.
