Im wondering if its reasonable to rewire a usually non compatible car, Subaru or other, with the same cylinders, to run off the subaru harness and ECU.

I would like to pick up a 3rd gen MR2 and do a turbo 4 cylinder build, but not go standalone, since Im fairly used to the ecuflash software. With the ability to rewire everything, could I use a 16 bit carberry patched ecu, or a 32 bit merpmod patched ecu, to run a turbo 4 cylinder motor in this car? I want to be optimistic, because Id love to do the work to make this possible. If it means a custom harness on the engine side, so be it. Figure the dash would be one hangup area though.

you'd be making a lot of work for yourself mechanically trying to get the subaru sensors attached to that engine. I have heard of people using honda ECU's to run the 3sGTE engine though and you would then have the ability to live tune it with the use of an RTP board.
