Hello, ladies and gentlemen!
VAG, Mitsubishi and, probably, a lot of other manufacturer cars have this concept of "codings" (may be there is different term - I am not sure). It allows setting/resetting configuration changes in different computers in cars(brake sizes in VAGs, for example).
How are things with Subaru with that matter?
For example - two situations: 1) "usual" brakes(floating pin calipers) and brembo set(fixed) - are ABS and related units coded differently? 2) "usual" and "shorter"(from STI, for example) steering racks - how do VDC "feel" about differences in them?
I went to dealership and spoke with one of the tech guys - all he told me that, for example, "virgin"(or from junkyard) VDC or ABS unit has option to "set model". I assume that this is what "adjusts" behaviour of these units. Is that so? Is there in depth information on subject?
TIA!
