Hello To All.

I´m new here and i would like to know if anyone could help me out trying to recover a 2015 WRX ECU with SH72543.
I will try to explain the situation, and please forgive me if i´m "bypassing forum rules. (i´m kind of "desperate" here with this)

So, i read this ECU using ECUFlash + OpenPort and also read this ECU using PCMFlash and OpenPort.
I was doing this, to tune this car.
Got a tune file from a friend with over 15years of tuning experience.
I tried to load the tune using ECUFlash but because i´m still learning how to use it and i didnt find any Def file for this ECU i used PCMFlash to load the tune.
All ok, Checksum where corrected by soft, no errors loading / flashing the tune, but then, car didnt start and some weird "clicks" from relays and throttle body.
So, now this is my issue:
I´m trying to load original file to ECU but its been impossible to do it for some reason.
I wanted to know if there is anyway we could do some kind of flash recovery on this...
I already tried to flash with Subaru Soft, new calibration but i always get errors and it aborts...
I can communicate with ECU and get ID but it gives communication errors when checking for DTCs...

Is there anyone here that could help me out trying to recover this ECU? I dont have any Jtag tools that can work on this ECU for now, so i want to see if there is any other options.
I can connect on the bench the ECU, but still having flash issues...

Hello guys.

Just some info on how this goes fro my side:
I was able to speak with Alientech distributor and went there to test with Kess V3.
We where able to recover this ECU by read / write Original Files using Boot / Jtag Mode and Kess V3.
So, for now i know that the issue was the file i wrote with PCMFlash.

I will try to search for some tools that could read this, but it would be also good if ECUFlash had the option to "boot Recovery" these ECUs, since they can read by OBD.

If i find any info i will let you guys know...

FastECU can read these, but there's not yet tested checksum correction IRL, so writing is bit risky. It will tell at the end of writing if checksums/ROM is OK, so it is possible to write stock ROM back if failed and not power cycled.

Also, if I could find or someone willing to give one ECU to test, I can make recovery code for these on FastECU.

could i use this to try and write back original flash/rom, that i know its OK?
Will this work with OpenPort?

well, i already tried to read this ECU and it can´t read, because its "bricked". so, it needs to be unbricked using Jtag / boot method.
for now I need to go again and use Kess V3 to read and write good flash / rom on it and unbrick.

But with this experience, i think i will buy a used ECU just for test and see if we can find the method to unbrick these using the commercial hardware on the market....

I have such blocks blocked. Will they fit?

Do you have the part number for ECU?

Also, what are the symproms on that "bricked" ECU when in car?
