I am trying to find out if the physical crankshaft, camshaft timing and correlation logic is in an editable portion of the ROM. Does anyone know if it is?

If so, what would be the best way to find and define it? I'm assuming looking for some interrupt handler for events happening on the timing related inputs would be a good start.

For some background, I am trying to put together a fairly odd ECU/cylinder head combination: EJ20X ECU and W25 cylinder heads. The EJ20X ECU is expecting VR camshaft sensors and the W25's are obviously Hall effect, being so new. I have already been able to successfully turn a Hall effect input signal into an approximation of a VR output signal at the correct peak to peak voltage using an STM32 microcontroller with minimal input -> output delay. Theoretically I could use the mcu to offset or entirely recreate the camshaft signals with the correct "base" offset and timing pattern that the EJ20X ECU is expecting, but this feels like something that could be definable in the ECU itself and would be a good resource to have for others working with odd combinations of parts.

Any help or tips are appreciated.

Thanks!
