Can an 04 sti be converted to drive by cable from drive by wire? i.e. can the sti ecu run correctly without the accelerator position sensor?

It would break the boost controller at a minimum since throttle angle controls it.

I think you would likely run into a series of DBW failsafes. The DBW system uses 2 or 3 throttle position sensors that all need to match up, and I think it is likely there are performance checks between accelerator input and throttle position sensing as far as it responding correctly.

I'm sure it is possible, but be ready to trudge through these sort of issues.

You could always add some sort of sensor on the throttle pedal and mount the throttle body parts somewhere. People used to do that for the TGVs.

I was afraid of that. I might be able to come up with something though. Thanks.
