Hey guys,
I have had this BG5 for some time now and I have always had a shuddering issue at full throttle. I finally got ahold of an SSM1 monitor to troubleshoot her. Turns out I'm maxing out the MAF. I figure that's easy enough to fix, but I found other problems while logging her. The car has a Mines daughterboard with custom tune on it calibrated for Japanese fuel.
My timing is too aggressive as it's programmed for JDM gasoline. I have over 20 degrees of timing at peak boost on both turbos and it runs very very lean. I don't really feel like going through another engine for no reason.
If anyone has any ability to decode this ROM and get me access to timing, fuel, injector scaling or MAF scaling I would be very grateful. I'm not a reverse engineer code type, but I am good at lots of other things. I'm willing to pay for positive results or trade work.
Not only that but you get the ability to say you helped me tune my twin turbo legacy!
Here is the tiny rom, it's only 32Kb so I can't imagine it will take the time a 16 or 32 bit ecu will. The only data I have that I think will help is that the offset is 8000... again, I have no clue what that even means.
I downloaded a free program from ecutune.com that you can open the file with, but its all gibberish to me.
http://ecutune.com/ECUtuner.htmI used it to pull the image. With a proper definition file, I'm supposed to be able to change the values in the rom and write it to the car. It is SLOOOW as it is only at 1953 baud. Took an hour to pull the 32KB image off my ecu.
Again, any help or guidance is appreciated and I'm not against compensation. People pay me to tune, I'm willing to pay for the same services.
I have attached two files. One is the image I titled BG5. I believe it is just the pertinent data. The other is the entire image, I guess...
Thanks,
