Hey,

I tryed to use search, but with only three letters its not possible to find the rigth items:

I am working on research of the CAN IDs of engineCAN of my diesel and found allready some importent messages and values.
Does someone work on this at a petrol car, too ?

I think there are not mutch differences between diesel DBC and pentrol BDC, so if anyone found the descripton allready, pls. give me a link to compare mine and his results

BR Jochen

Location: Canada eh!
So what is DBC?

I don't think anyone here has done any CAN message stuff other than Fiend.
At some point I was going to look at doing CAN queries with the RR Logger. But time and too many other projects is holding me back.

DBC-File is a description of CAN ID and values witch are coded in the (maximum) 8 use-bytes.

The shape of the description is mainly formed by Vector-Company in germany and gets into a standart for measuring and logging in vehicle eveloations.

Tools like Vector CANape, AFT Marc1, ETAS INKA etc. import this DBC-file to have a clear look to the CAN bus..

this is the big advantage, if we got the informations from CAN:
You can also take a look at values from other ECU with are writing on CAN..

The Boxer Diesel Crew startet also working on it, and found some values. Now I am going on with the search.

If we got the most imported ones, maybe someone can check if the petrol cars got the messages
