Hey all...
Not sure where this question belongs, so I put it here. I'm logging through SSM on canbus, and the responses you get from the ECU are pretty similar to that seen in the documentation on SSM floating around written by Colby.
ie. say I use cmd A8 to read address 0x0000008 (Coolant Temperature) with SSM I should get a raw data response something like the following (according to Colby's doc): 0x80 0xF0 0x10 0x01 0xE8 0x7D CKSUM
What does the 0xE8 byte represent?
Over CAN, if I send the same request, I'll get a (cleaned up) response like: 7E8 8 02 E8 6A
The '02' byte indicates 2 bytes of data. Again, there's an E8. Every parameter I query has an E8 byte there... what does it mean?
