I've been reading and researching a fair bit about SSM. I've read the FAQ description of the SSM protocol that has been linked elsewhere on the internet - for instance here:

Is SSM-III just SSM over CAN ? Ie, if I send CAN messages formed similarly to the protocol specification linked above, is that all I need to do to log via CAN ?
Are there any links etc where I can read up on SSM-III protocol ? i've searched forums etc and haven't really found much that is definitive.
