Please let me know if the ODS-version doesn't work, I'll try to convert it to an Excel. I'm all for utilities that make it easier for people to do things. Do you mind posting an Excel version as well? I'll add it to the first post. I've already opened ods in excel and it work correctly. I use Office 2016.

How can I open in on office 2010? , I can open in 2016 ChrisH wrote: I've made a spreadsheet for calculating the correct value of the control-bits, including the function of the bit as fas as it's known. I've tested byte 7 and byte 8 and the changed value's worked perfect. Fun-option, change bit 3 of byte 8 to 0 and the exhaust flap wil stay open, resulting in a more sophisticated version of the golf-tee-mod Please let me know if the ODS-version doesn't work, I'll try to convert it to an Excel.

First post on RomRaider Forums, sorry to revive this thread. I am quite familiar with handling MS43 and a little bit with MS42. I'm starting to catch on with these control bits and how to calculate and handle them. ECU I'm working with is MS41.1, base off ECU info given to be by the chipsters tool.
I've read quite a bit but still stumped... Just one question, how could we disabled POST 02 sensors and keep PRE 02 sensors on ms41.1? Just by winging it, I've calculated 0-ing out bit 3 and 4 of byte 6 and convert to hex, but I'm just winging it, haven't tested it. Not my car, just trying to help a friend and not trying to break anything.
EWS delete, and disabling checksum correction seems straight forward although neither of these is my interest for this situation... maybe disabling checksum to make my life a little easy but the chipster tool seems to work well.... ANYWAY, help with that question would be fantastic. Thank you.

For me this is not control bit related. There are DTC to remove aswell as feedback mode to change in another setting

I am trying to grasp this the bit order for the ms41 is backwards from the Bosch me7.2 that I have been working with
So for the control bit 8. I want to EWS delete and currently my binary in control 8 is 30
30 == 00011110
If I want to switch my EWS bit to off I need to Toggle bit 7 = 1 which is first in the order correct?
Becoming 10011110 or 158 in decimal
So I would edit byte 8 to become >>>> 158 flash back to car
Next question about this is, Does EWS delete function like the one on my Me7.2 (Jump ews start wires I see from posts and DME will still throw EWS DTC code correct?)
Lastly I know EWS2 does not have the rolling codes etc that EWS3 does.
Can I junkyard ANY ews2 module and adapt it to my e36 or is delete my only option with this gen?
thanks in advance

Lastly I know EWS2 does not have the rolling codes etc that EWS3 does.
Can I junkyard ANY ews2 module and adapt it to my e36 or is delete my only option with this gen? you can grab any ews 2 module that is the same p/n as yours, but you need to sync your dme's ISN to it. the ews module has X amount of slots that can be synced.
thanks in advance Responses in quote

The ews delete has been kicked to death:) Not many mentions of the SAP delete. Anyone had luck with SAP delete to take care of that check engine light?

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Can you please explain how you figured it out after EWS delete? I swapped E39 ECU on E36 and EWS deleted. A/C compressor did not activated. Then flashed the E39 ECU(1429861) with same E36 partial and it worked. Like to figure it out. Thanks
