Hi! Looking for a stock rom of e39 ms41.0 2.8i. I bricked my ecu and I am looking for a stock rom to try to write it...I found one but it is automatic transmision. Mine is manual. Can i flash it?

does your damaged ecu have the same number and index as the 861 which is in the picture? if so you can flash then you will recode gearboxes only. However, if your driver had a different number like 861 then you need to compare the pin date because different drivers had different pins and they are not all interchangeable.

If it helps anyone, partial reads for E39 520i and 523i, both MT and completely stock from what I can tell. Quote: Hi! Looking for a stock rom of e39 ms41.0 2.8i. If you have full backup from yours ecu before brick you can load fullflash to new ecu. And engine should be working. When you have not backup, can you flash new ecu with partial flash with data from your engine and model car. When you need changed trnansmision from auto to manual you need change byte 5 in control bits. Read topic control bits on this forum. After that i think you need swtch off immo. All control bits you need set correctly as you have parts on engine.
