Hello please check this ms41 bin file ews off really? or not? thx bmw 36 m52b25 file
under checksum sorry for bad english

It is. But some changes also ... I would prefer ews delete in fullread not partial.

EWS delete is contained in the partial so it really doesn't matter.

EWS was removed from your original file. Did you read it back to make sure the changes applied?

I told you. EWS was already deleted in the first one you posted. If you want to verify yourself, all of the instructions are in the first post.
You never answered my question from my last post.

You still didn't answer my question. No one cares about what sounds it makes. Read the ecu back to verify your changes applied.

I have the same question, from 15 (1111) now should be 143 (10001111), correct?

Can anyone help me with my little puzzle?

I drive a US-import 323i E36 in Europe. Soms of the US-specific emission control parts aren't mandatory in my country (the Netherlands). For my car the EVAP and secundaire air intake for instance aren't needed to pass the yearly checks. But the only defects I have in my car, are in these two systems and repair is second to impossible because parts aren't available over here  So I want to disable them. For the secundaire air intake it's easy, but I'm not really clear on which control bits need to be changed for the EVAP...

For byte 7 the AFK (which is part of the EVAP-system) is mentioned, byte 8 contains the control bits for the EVAP.

Do I need to set bit 3 of byte 7 (AKF delete) and bits 4, 5 and 6 of byte 8 (EVAP delete), or is changing byte 8 enough?

I'm planning to keep the AKF in place, and I don't mind if it (partially) works, as long as it doesn't throw a MIL because of an untraceable and very small leak somewhere in the system that doesn't have any influence of the engine performance, safety or the environment.

If you disable AKF, the ECU will not periodically purge fuel vapor through the charcoal canister.

I'm not sure, but I think, if you disable Evap bit, only the monitoring function will be disabled and you will retain function of the actual system. I think this is what you want to do?

Yes, There's no reason for me to disable the EVAP-system, but I do want to disable the monitoring of it. Or stop the monitor throwing a MIL and just store a fault.

The plans are to fully restore this car and them I will be trying to resolve the issue with the EVAP.
It's a E36 323i convertible, which is really rare in the Netherlands, since the 323i convertible was only available in the UK (with right hand steering) and the US. As far as I'm aware mine is the only one in The Netherlands.
