I'm trying to do some MAF signal testing on the bench and I'm not getting anything in INPA.

Pin 7 is MAF input, pin 8 is MAF ground on the ecu connector. I put a straight 5v into pin 7 and ground pin 8 with nothing.

The MAF plug has 4 pins. 12v, 0-5v out, and two grounds (both of which need to be bridged)

My guess is one of the grounds of the ECU connector needs to be bridged to the MAF ground. Anyone have any experience as to which pin? The only 4 unlabeled grounds I've found are pins 3(not connected to MAF plug at all), 28, 32, 34 (these last 3 are all bridged on the engine harness). I'd like to avoid jumping all of these (pin 8, 28, 32, 34) but I will if I have to.

Update, bridged the latter together and sent 5v into the signal wire and still nothing in INPA. I'm wondering if it won't read air intake unless the something else is giving a signal in.

Simply turn the ignition in your car on and blow through the maf while logging with inpa. It should work without aux inputs/outputs.

Shure, but as a first test if your thoughts are right, it should be ok ;) Next possiblity would/could be a hair dryer ;) Should be constant enough.

It actually may not be for what I'm working with

I'll probably end up using s voltage regulator and a resistor between the 12v and signal out pins on the actual car. Hopefully it doesn't need to be on :?

What do you plan to do with this?
