I picked up two used ms42 dme’s to mess with, an obd pigtail from an e46 323i, and the dme electrical connectors from the same vehicle and a 350 watt pc power supply. I the dme up per pazi88’s instructions on his youtube channel and couldnt connect with mss5x flasher, and inpa said module not found and the Battery and Ignition lights were not lit.
I then, with the help of Enabled, hooked it up as follows -
X6001 Pin7 to +12vdc
X6001 Pin4 to Ground
X6001 Pin3 to OBD2-pin7
X6004 Pin32 to OBD2-pin7
X6004 Pin26 to +12vdc
OBD2-pin16 to +12vdc
OBD2-pins4&5 to Ground
Inpa Ignition and Battery lights up now but gives error “Data transmission Interrupted”, and mss5x flasher still says the same as before “no connection or unsupported ecu”
I have confirmed that voltage coming from the power supply remains at +12.27vdc when the dme, obd2 cable, and my tablet are all hooked up.
I am at a loss here, and if anyone has any input I would really appreciate it.
