Some details of the car:
2010 Volvo XC60 T6
Denso ECU, may likely be Renesas CPU
Flash is protected with a vehicle-unique key

Some specs of the engine and drive (and why the community is itching for a tuning solution)
3.0L inline 6
Twin scroll Borg Warner turbocharger
300hp, 300lb-ft of torque (later revisions were ~325hp on the same engine)

Polestar, which is Volvo's official "tuning" division (think of STi is to Subaru, or AMG to Mercedes) has canned tunes that can be purchased for most turbo Volvos made in the last 10 years or so but they are very expensive (~$1800) for a very modest gain. Aftermarket companies have made better gains for less money but development has been really hampered by the latest model car (called P3, the chassis code) because of an ECU vehicle-unique key

Would love to see if people were interested in pulling apart this ROM, possibly figuring out how the vehicle-unique key is calculated, and anything else that can be figured out.

Is the ecu sealed ?
If not is it possible to see the motherboard ?

Renesas chip may be read thru AUD port if not disabled.
Denso ecu may have a backdoor in a primary bootloader.

This appears to have a SH-2 CPU. Now we need to know exactly which one.

Denso MY10 SH-2 may be nothing but SH7058S or SH7059.

I might be able to purchase a computer on eBay and tear it apart and take some photos.

I know this is a old thread, but the name on that paper, is supposedly one of the best tuner out there for Volvo's. I only say supposedly because I have no direct experience with him.

https://hiltontuning.com/about/

But I would love to figure out how I can datalog my Volvo. Came from a Subaru so I have a very basic idea. Just haven't been able to find much or any open source software or programs like rom raider. Everything I've read so far is that VIDA and DiCE, and both official versions belong to Volvo and costs a arm and a leg to purchase REAL versions of.
