To clarify, I have never had a problem with any adapter from ANY manufacturer that uses an FTDI chipset. I have had problems with every adapter I've used that had a Prolific chipset. If Prolific is making adapters now using the FTDI chipset, instead of their own chipset, I would expect them to work fine. After I bricked an LM1 (at least 10 years ago), I threw out my Prolifics and have avoided them ever since. I guess things have improved since then.
