I can log fine if it's direct to PC but freezes if I use a USB hub. Anyone else have this issue or a fix? AEM WB, serial to USB adapter.

just sounds like it might be a crap hub to me. Is it usb 2.0 or usb 3.0 - is your USB port the same speed? Some of the hubs will need additional power (maybe a second USB port or mains power) to operate properly.

In the past, I've had issues with Prolific USB-serial adapters dropping out and acting strange. I try to find adapters with FTDI chips if possible.

i use the prolific USB adapter with the FTDI chipset, it's been so stable I've bought a few more as spares

To clarify, I have never had a problem with any adapter from ANY manufacturer that uses an FTDI chipset. I have had problems with every adapter I've used that had a Prolific chipset. If Prolific is making adapters now using the FTDI chipset, instead of their own chipset, I would expect them to work fine. After I bricked an LM1 (at least 10 years ago), I threw out my Prolifics and have avoided them ever since. I guess things have improved since then.
