Removed and reinstalled about 3 times, same with all java versions.

The editor opens and works fine. However, logger will not open;

I get the RR logo then initializing logger is stuck on my desktop and nothing ever happens from then onwards.

Any ideas?

Try deleting your settings.xml file in C:\Users\<user>\.RomRaider\

Thank you very much, I didnt think of this.

Oddly enough after the reinstall (i must have been using an old version of romraider)

Im getting errors for my def files.

Is there something that changed dramatically recently in structuring?

You should update your definitions to the latest from https://github.com/a33b/NissanDefs

I have the same problem if I use latest Subaru ecu.defs with few rom def added to it. If I use same ecu.defs with no modifications it is fine.

With latest 0.8 version, modded ecu.defs will work no problem.

Odd that it says it's not valid def file. Is there a way to see where is the problem in def file or do I have to find and check all modded areas?

The error message is the key. The first word is an identifier used in a file called nameSequences.properties in the customize directory of the RomRaider installation.

In the error posted the first word is EcuFlashBase:
In the nameSequences.properties file you will see an entry:
EcuFlashBase = <scaling name

This means that the definition you loaded incorrectly uses the sequence:
<scaling name

This is the error in the definition that needs to be corrected. 'name' is not a valid attribute for the scaling element. This has been erroneously used to make multiple scaling units for a table. The correct way is to use the attribute 'category' instead of name.

That solved my problem, thanks!
