The interesing thing is that signal from the cam sensor is processed in the chip (try to post its photo later) but the output from this chip is just the same as we can get from usual hall sensor!
Tried an experiment of desoldering that chip and supplying just a hall cam sensor (we have one in m52tu & m54) signal input - the car runs perfect! But there also occured a side effect - car does not starts when crank ps is disconnected.
So my guess is some alterations to the code should be made either..

Thats not a side effect, thats just what happens when you disconnect the crank sensor on almost any car

MS41 can run in limp-home mode with just cam sensor so failing crank sensor won't put you walking home.

Cam sensor need only to differentiate crank rotations to be able to do sequential injection and ignition timing - to be able to work as second timing sensor in case of failing crank sensor there have to be much more accuracy.

What needs to be done to install a hall sensor ,please?

Hello, I also recently encountered a camshaft sensor problem. The original sensor is too expensive. I have a hella brand sensor working. Made in china.

Shortly: supply pwr, gnd and hall's ouput to processor
