Hello there, my name is David and I am wanting to flash a custom tune file on my 1998 BMW 328i. I would like to learn more about how the computers on these cars work, and this seems like a great place for information

Hi there.

I have a Land Rover Defender fitted as factory standard with the BMW M52B28 engine with the Siemens MS41 DME. This was when BMW owned Rover (and Land Rover) and in SA they thought it was a good idea to use the BMW engine in the Defender. These were SA market only but a few of them have found their way around the world (inc the UK, where I am). As in SA they didn't have the same emissions test as the UK, they modified the DME to delete the O2 sensors (although retained the cats). I have always struggled to get the car through UK MoT emissions, and it has always run too rich, so I want to fix that. I am hoping I can use the information here to help me with that.

Hello and "servus" everyone,

i'm Max from Germany. My buddy bought an almost rust free E36 limo, but with the 1.6l 4cylinder. So we are going to swap my old M52B25 in it :)

Engine is now in, so we need to do some hacking with the computer ;)
