Hello, i tried flashing a stock b20 bin but the vanos is not turning on. When i put a 328 bin file and rev the car it is working just fine, but with the b20 not working at all even while driving.

I tried to copy the ignition and fuel maps from the b20 to the b28 bin file but the car is not working properly so there are much more maps to be copied so it works fine. My question is what exactly should i fix in the b20 file so the vanos begin to work ?

i dont think anyone can tell u the answer with such scarce details about ur setup. could be multiple things.

why did u reflash ur software in the first place? any mods done to the engine? maybe if ur share some logs and bins. someone may be willing to have a look. but without that who knows what could be the cause-

The car have problems with the speed signal. On m52b20 for the vanos to work the ecu needs the vehicle speed signal. The m52b28 bin doesnt look for speed signal for the vanos to turn on.

I copied all ignition and fuel maps from the b20 bin to the b28 and now is working.

I just wonder how to turn off the speed signal searching on the b20 ecu for the vanos to turn on.

That is some information that is needed. .

What versions are the Bins? I know that 41.2 or 41.1 uses the vehicle speed and rpm table for Vanos wot map. 41.0 has No vehicle speed related vanos tables and goes only by rpm.

Show where u think in the maps it goes by vehicle speed.

I can upload tomorrow the bins from the b20 which is looking for speed signal and the b28 which is not looking for speed signal. I know because i copied about 40 maps from the b20 and put them on the b28 bin and now the vanos is working.
Both are ms41.0

I will upload also the final file with which is working so of someone with b20 have speed signal issue can write it directly.

Can you send bins bro? I have same issue with m52b20 swapped e34

Here are the 2 files

the b28tob20 have all ignition, fuel and knock tables copied from b20 to the b28 bin.

Wrote it on the car runs good.

Anyway if someone find easier way to turn the function for the vanos to turn on without speed signal it would be great.

For this to work, shouldn't the full b28 be flashed before putting on that partial? what 28 is the full? to be able to use it thanks friend

why? if its same software version like 41.0 just flash partial. double check in romraider and compare if tables and version is the same...of course it is always good to do a full flash and partial backup of the original file before flashing another one.
