Hey guys, firstly I would like to thank everyone for all the work and information which has been put up on here in regards to the ms43 ecu’s. I have been reading a lot and have learned A LOT and have messed with a few ms43 ecu’s now. My main issue is that since I do not have an e46, I have made myself a bench setup to flash both e46 ecu’s as well as e36 ecu’s. Main issue I am having is the AUTO to MANUAL conversion for ecu. Since I do not have a chassis to work with, I cannot sync ews. Also I have tried to reset adaptations using INPA but the dme stays in auto mode. I also tried to use NCS Expert, but unfortunately, this program communicates with other modules in the car for it to work, and since I am only using a bench setup and do not have an e46, this doesn’t help me either. I have asked people to use their car before but this gets very tiresome if you are doing many ecu’s at the same time. I consider myself to still be a novice when it comes to using different programs but at this point I cannot get past this issue of the ecu being stuck in AUTO mode. Is there any way that I can change ecu from AUTO mode to MANUAL mode using a bench setup? Your answer is truly appreciated and wondering if someone can please pint me in the right direction of how I can fix this issue. Thanks for reading.

Open INPA and delete variant adaptations. Or use MS4X flasher to do the task.
