Hi,

A friend of mine have a broken MS45 ECU and a replacement/used, and I have the tools to read/write.

Do I just read/write full, or will this be a problem with the EWS?

If yes, can I just sync EWS with INPA after "cloning"/read-full-write, or will INPA get mad because of different VIN?

Also, if options above will not work, since it's a M54B22, can I just use a MS43 with EWS deactivated? Looks like the pins is same, but havent checked the pinout/assignment

Thanks!!

Cloning possible by true fullread (eprom, flash and mpc). Need proper tools for and read via bdm.
Easy going. (if you are from Europe send them to me and I can clone em for you if you dont get the tools for).

No in fact of isn you have follow options:
1. clone (best option),
2. virginize and resync with inpa,
3. work on ews / cas modul for,
4. immo off (didnt think its offical released, but its possible ;), rsa sign. long time ago is cracked...).

VIN is unnessecary and can be changed via WinKfp (AEFI will show all older VINS...).
No MS43 different sensors... cant be used also car not happy with, need a lot of changes (but its possible!)

Yes they should but you need some :D for this job... thats why I offer him if he is from Europe he can send and I will do the job.
Also clone K-Tag should do the job (not 100% clear about, for e.g. MSD80... clone cant do because of cant read password, good to get other, better tools).

Thanks!

Will try MSS5x flasher or MS4X flasher (full read then write bdm with k+dcan cable).

Correct, no other tools needed? :)

Not possible with them. They dont support MS45 (only MS41, MS42, MS43... MS45 and MS45.1 way different)... Terras&Hassmachine tool support MS45 ecus but also no cloning!
You need bdm tool for.
Maximum need to resync after but mostly not.

There are three options to fully clone this ecu:

1 - BDM - Ext Flash+IntFlash+Eeprom
2 - ExtFLash+IntFlash by MS45 Flasher and Eeprom by any Spi programmer.
3 - ExtFLash+IntFlash by MS45 Flasher and desolder Eeprom from old ECU, and solder it to new one.

In all cases you will need special tools, different than only KKL cable. When you clone only IntFlash and ExtFlash, car will not start, because there is immo info in Eeprom.

Hi,
I want to clone MS45.0 DME from BMW 2005 530i E60. The original is MS45.0 from 2004 525i E60. One of the transistor got burnt in the original. Which one is the correct tool? K-tag or Kess? Do I need the BDM frame?

Please answer.
