Haven't looked into this much with IDA quite yet. But for the torque management maps, they directly affect throttle response. Torque=Throttle open % in a sense. Uprev says they're used mainly for automatics and they've found it to be useless for manual tuning. So I wouldn't worry too much about many of the torque management maps. As long as your throttle is reading 4V+ (or about 85-87% with OBD2) then it's WOT. Another thing to watch out for is your throttle starting to CLOSE towards redline. This can be attributed to throttle cut OR poor throttle tuning. Throttle cut literally cuts throttle in half. So if you go from 4V to 3.6V towards redline, that's a tuning issue. But if it goes from 4V to 2V, then that's throttle cut taking place.

Ultimately, I wouldn't worry about them for a manual vehicle. (But I will look into it sometime in the future to see what exactly is occurring except translating requested torque to throttle opening.)

UPDATE;

Target Drive Force Maps are only used in AWD/4WD equipped vehicles according to Uprev. So these are completely useless for RWD and potentially FWD vehicles.

What has your experience been with these maps? I haven't found any changes in throttle functionality even with extreme values set for CF48D. So Alex saying they're AWD only would at least partially line up with what I experienced. The maps are referenced in code, technically. But I haven't disassembled those functions yet.

Have you compared maps for manual transmission and automatic and cvt? In some rom, these cards are directly dependent on the cvt type, but 1 is the same engine. qh0 torque converter map 3d is configured together with mtfdd. Otherwise, there is no result.

Funnily enough, drive force functionality appears exclusively in CVT patents from what I can see. At least for the abbreviations. So I think it would be logical to assume that CVT's use this map exclusively. Which wouldn't be a surprise because I have CVT shift speed limit values in my ROM :lol: Nissan loves taking up space. But I wonder if Alex maybe got confused when stating they were for AWD vehicles? He's not wrong about it being unused for RWD vehicles though. As Nissan doesn't make any CVT RWD vehicles (I don't think???)

excellent result of tuning and target driving force for manual gearbox.but as I said earlier, just changing 1 map will have no effect.

Can officially confirm that drive force logic is disabled for CF48D and all 350z’s. It seems to be CVT based like I originally thought. The ETC flags will tell you what logic is enabled and what logic isn’t btw. I haven’t checked other ROMs out yet, but an 03 Nissan Stagea ROM (AWD auto) uses QH0 logic instead of drive force logic as well. So that eliminates the possibility of it being drivetrain based. The only ROM I’ve seen with it enabled was a CVT Sentra ROM so far. Exceptions could apply.
