Redump using SH7058's kernel.

Log from Fenugrec's handy Nisrom tool :) (Hand verified the SH7058 Database in Hex View as well)

**** Started analyzing 6Z55A.bin
Warning : ROM size 512k, expected 1024k; possibly incomplete dump

That's strange, so I'd originally tried dumping it as 7058, but it entered a wierd loop where the dump wasn't completing. Knowing the similarities between the 04-05 when it comes to Spec Vs I figured I'd try using 7055 since that's what the 04 is, it dumped within a few minutes and figured it was good. I'll have to try again when I get my hands on this car again I guess.

If you mean the progress bar is getting stuck, sometimes it's just something with the command prompt itself. Sometimes hitting the right arrow key makes it start moving again haha Had that happen to me a few times. Also, it's a good precaution to ensure all electrical load is off as well as making sure the code you're typing doesn't have any errors.

7058, 7055_18 and 7055_35 all share the exact same dumping code and are 100% interchangeable for that purpose. Flashing is the only difference between them.

512k vs 1024k dump size depends on the dumpmem arguments you specify.

Good technical detail right there haha I remember seeing you mention that in previous posts but it slipped my mind. Although, it's safer to tell them to dump with the proper kernel due to the fact that you're putting the kernel location in the config and most people would probably forget to change the config to the proper kernel when going to flash.

Finally linked up with my friend and pulled his ROM successfully (hopefully). Once again any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Really just need someone to setup the base definition file, I'll be fine cross-referencing other ROMs to find additional maps.

I'll hold you to that ;) Base template with proper checksums, no maps defined.

Well here is my definition file, based all the definitions off of the work done previously on ZG59B (my 06 Spec V). I'll upload this definition to the main definition thread after I confirm it works properly on my friend's car.
You do have my sincere thanks for taking the time to make that base template.

No problem! I’m always happy to help! :) As a side note, I’m hoping to get my 2000+ maps ROM organized and analyzed some more. Because I want to make it as easy as possible to know which maps you actually NEED and which maps are actually USEFUL. So give me a few months to get it all organized and then I’m planning on cross referencing with certain ROMs from other Nissans so that it’s easier to cross reference the important maps :)
