I wanted to start autox with my last car (I was supposed to keep that one when I got the new one, but it got totaled).
I've been hesitant to persue it , since I only have my daily driver now. How much does the autox beat up your cars?

it depends on so many factors. the way you drive it, your location, ... overall, very little at all.
we've autox'ed our cars since last year. sometimes even co-driving each other's car.

It's pretty tough on tires, Jeramie, but other than that, my car is fine. Just don't hit as many cones as me and you shouldn't have to worry about fender liners And since I'm a guinnea pig, we know now that the liners are cheap, anyway.
The rain let up a little bit.. a utility knife did the trick.

LOL. A cone did that? And yeah, your tires look pretty bald!

I think about 25 cones did that over the course of the last year, and probably a good number of driveways before I got around to raising the springs a bit.
I'm lazy enough that I had the whole passenger side of the car jacked up, the front tire off, and still didn't rotate them. It was wet out and I was standing in the grass in slippers, so maybe I have a bit of an excuse...
Edit: Oh, yeah, the cone just broke it loose -- all the wear is from rubbing on my tire/highway for 100 miles afterwards.

a cone bent the inner lip on the front right fender when the cone went under the fender... i was able to just push the lip back in... no biggie.

i almost removed the fuse yesterday. but the weather was too cold and the concrete was cold and the tires were cold as well, even after 5 runs. i gured, I might need the ABS to control it for me. but when the weather is warm, you'll get to feel it without the ABS - it's sweeeeet!
