I have an 07 Sti and want to log, read and flash. Would the following tablet be okay for this/does anyone use this tablet for Romraider/ecuflash?

http://www.microcenter.com/product/4397 ... et_-_Black

My concern is that it only has 1gb of RAM and 16gb of storage.

If it has a USB and can run Java 32bit then it should be fine.

any update? I've been looking at this lately too. Lots of guys are saying that with win8 RT doesn't play well with RR and ECU flash but I'm still trying to find more proof on that. I'd love to get one and toss it in my car purely for logging and flashing. Laptop isn't terrible....just....new gadgets :D

Been using that tablet from microcenter for about half a year now. It has a full 8.1 install and not RT. I have ecu flash installed but I have not attempted to flash a map with it yet. I typically use my laptop to flash. However for logging and monitoring, its perfect.

awesome, good to know! Like i had said I've been digging around trying to find an acceptable solution and it seems like you really have to dig to really find what OS version is on there. Monitoring and logging is exactly what I want to use it for as well, just would be nice as a little flash machine too.

I might be ordering one of these now.....

For anyone that is curious the tablet does work 100% as advertised. I got mine in tonight, ordered off amazon. Same model, TW700. Works out great. I keep all my roms and logs on a micro SD card, Purchased a micro USB-A to mini USB-A for talking to the OP and then use the full size USB-A to talk to my PLX wb02.

$120 got me the tablet, mount, and cable. Flashes, logs, and the whole shebang. 100% would recommend. Will mention that the mount I have came with VHB pads. The back of the tablet is rubberized a bit so the standard suction mount doesn't 100% hold.

Also for any of you that may be looking it would be FANTASTIC if we could increase the gauge size another 50% or so ;)

I am very interested in getting one, so thanks for this information.

Can you just go into more details as to the connections (and a photo maybe?). So the Tactrix cable plugs into the USB 2.0 slot on the tablet but how do you plug the gauge in? Is there a micro USB slot for charging on the tablet that can take data?

I ask because I use a Phidget to get my AEM Wideband data into RomRaider and so two USB slots are needed for my setup to work.

Thanks.

Just use a USB hub and have just one cable to the tablet.
