Im trying to read from my ECU and flash on a new tune using Ecuflash (1.44)but i cannot get it to connect to my ecu.

Running windows 8.1, i can log with romraider and see learning view with the ebay vagcom cable im using but no luck using ECUflash. I have used it in the past with same laptop and cable but i have since re-installed windows. Im not sure what the issue is. Is there any other software i can use to try read/write files to my ecu. i see the XML file for my ecu listed in the directory for ECU flash ROM ID:A2ZJ600B and ECU ID is 2F04785006

Any ideas what could be the problem? I need to try get my hands on another windows laptop i can try on to rule that out, but if romraider works fine, im not sure where the issue is :(

Newer versions of EcuFlash will not read/write ECUs through a VAG-COM cable and some VAG-COM cables are not supported well be EcuFlash even if it could use it. I have various versions of these cables and it's 50/50 whether it will work or not. Typically the ones that do work are the much older cables with a FTDI chip that is no longer available.

found book my old reliable netbook running windows 7. everything is working fine on that. loaded base tune on today, got my ass whooped by a bmw 640d!

im looking to be able to log the output from my innovate MTX-L wideband o2 sensor. Is it possible to log that with romraider if i connect it up to my laptop via usb serial adapter and the serial to gauge connection?
