 Post subject: Early WRX ECU problem

ECU help- 1994 JDM EJ20G WRX with 5spd manual trans. Need to obtain engine wiring harness and ECU. Have not been able to find a piggyback system that will work with stock ECU. I have studied stand alone ECU's and prefer piggyback system for my setup. After the engine etc, has been installed and running satisfactorily I will want to do some engine upgrades so it may be necessary to do a -retune-.

Does anyone have definite knowledge if it possible to install a different ECU,other than the original, that would meet my needs?

To make the matter more clear the engine and trans will be installed in a Karmann Ghia that will be completely restored and somewhat customized, so I want an engine to match the body changes and I love to do things differently!

why settle for a piggy back when you can tune the factory ECU? An ESL daughterboard can be fitted which will allow for realtime tuning, antilag, launch control as well as all the features of the stock tune.
