Hello,

Is there someone drive with a EJ257 block with EJ205 heads?

So yes what CR and timing?

I want to build a engine with a CR 8.64:1 en the gasket is 1mm with 1,6bar max turbo boost.
What is save to drive for timing?

+1, it is intersting. I think about this too. If I bay 257 shortblock are all from my old 205 will fit?

Externally both blocks are identical with the exception of a block vent (which can be capped) on the 257.
Use the STI oil pump, pan, pick-up tube, dipstick and baffle tray. These are optional, but recommended.

I run 205 heads which have been chambered to match the 99.5mm bores of of the 257 and 1.6 mm gaskets.

I run a compression ratio of 8:1 and 17 degrees timing in the midrange at 1.8 bar on an md321t turbo and 10% meth.

Ok, and the squish then?

Is a 1.6mm gaskets not to large?

Hi sorry for the later response - I needed to run the 1.6mm gasket to keep the compression ratio at 8:1

And you don“t have detonate?

I will go for the 1.02mm (.040 inch) gasket and my CR is then 8,51:1 .

Can someone tell me wat the max boost is with this CR?
