Howdy!

It's time for my 6 years / 90,000 km service. Up until last year the car has been serviced by authorised Subaru dealerships but this year, considering I've recently changed the oil, oil filter and air filter, it feels sort of like a waste of good oil to drain it. ;)

I still called to check for price for the service and it was approx 7000 SEK, that is a little over 1000 USD.

Included in the service was:

- oil change
- oil filter change
- air filter change
- cockpit filter change
- brake fluid change

and a 30 point checklist.

I am curious about this checklist. What does it contain?

Does someone here have a copy?

For resale value the stamp in the service book is perhaps worth the $1000, but what if that checklist is real simple? And my oil is better than the one they use. ;)

:)

Locally, all that work would be around $250
Cabin filter is easy, takes 15 minutes and filter is about $40
Engine Airfilter... I am sure you could do it yourself, filter is about $25
Brake fluid, maybe not a DIY but any competent mechanic could do it(and hopefully stamp the logbook!)

Thank you for your replies!

Here in Europe, somehow excluding the UK ;), we service every 15000 km or 1 year. The 1 year is why I am about to do the 90000 km service although I have a little over 80000 km on the car. In addition I change oil and filter every 5000 km (to 5w-50 synthetic and Subaru oem filters).

Brake fluid is something I would have a mechanic do but the rest (oil and filters) I do myself.

I found the following list from Subaru Canada:
http://www.subaru.ca/content/7907/Media ... ide_EN.pdf

What I would love to have is the actual list that the mechanic in the service center has. I wonder if I can get a copy if I call them and ask for one?

:)

I've got the actual schedule for a 2008 STI (it's a 25 - 27 point schedule). It's a table with all the items against a time a scale as to when what needs to be done.
