Hi guys, I'm new here and will mostly be a non contributor at least where it comes to development but would be happy to pay for some help! My problem is I have engine swapped a VK45DD engine with the OEM ECM into a D22 Navara/Frontier and whilst it is drivable I need to switch off some DTC's (particularly P0500 which occasionally stalls the engine) to make it reliable and clear the engine light to get past inspection. Right now I'm not fussed about tuning although modifying the tacho signal to suit would also be handy.

I have been reading through posts here and watching Youtube videos and have been messing around installing programs like Ghidra and RR so basically I have all the gear and no idea. I can do a ROM dump using Datascan 2 and upload that but would need someone to make it usable for me and then walk me though reflashing my ECM.

So far I know it uses an SH7055 processor and that I need nisprog and npk to reflash it, that's it! I have no coding background and would like to learn these things but there is so much to learn and so little time so any help would be highly appreciated, thanks.

Dump your ROM, zip it up, and upload it. DTCs aren't too difficult to define but disabling something such as P0500 could be dangerous. It would be preferable to adapt the signal from the vehicle so it is acceptable to the new ECU.

Thanks a33b, see the attached. Why do you think disabling 0500 would be dangerous? Sending the signal to the ECM might be difficult as it must come thought the CAN line from some other module (ABS or TCM, I dunno) and the Nav doesn't have either, although the gauge cluster can send out a speed signal to the old diesel ECM. Anyway I may have bypassed the problem temporarily by shorting the neutral position switch so happy days, for now . Also, have you ever modified the PWM signal for the tacho?

What is the ECUID reported by NDS when connecting ?

Sorry it took me so long! What happened was I had written COM04 instead of COM4 in the configuration file so yeah it let me straight in after I changed that (you had basically already answered my question in http://romraider.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 7&start=15). ECU ID is AR015 but I might connect the junker ECU and play around with that first, I'll let you know how I go when I get round to it.
