Dale,

Is it possible to add an auto download option in RR to autodownload the latest dyno def files?

Actually, if a future release of the RR editor and RR logger could also download the latest ecu and logger defs as well, that would be great :)

Hi, where have you been? You've been awfully quiet here.
I hope you are not affected by those awful floods.

The auto download should be possible and I think Jared mentioned doing it for all the defs.

Life has been really busy and stressful for the past few months, things have only just started to calm down and thankfully life is returning to normal :)

Luckily I'm in a different State to where the floods occurred, but I have family in QLD and they experienced it first hand - they are all well though, which was a relief.

I'll have a chat to Jared and see where he is at with it - if nothing has been done, it is something I should be able to assist with at the least :)

Glad to hear you're okay. Sorry to hear of the family though. In Canada, Winnipeg Manitoba to be exact flooding is a yearly occurrence when the winter snow melts. There are preparing for a bad flood this year.

If you haven't been following, Jared has started a rework of RR so there are many items to be added/updated. Check out the Tasks over there on the left side of the page under Developers.

Will do mate. I noticed the trac support thread the other day, and I've been going through the task list to see what is needed for future releases.

Hopefully there are some things I can assist with :)

Can you provide the specs or a link to where they are published?

I get an error message when I open logger 0.5.4b RC1, saying cars_def.xml is missing... am I in the right place? It does not show up when I open the logger through the latest version of RR ECU Editor, which is a bit frustrating, but just curious. Thank you for your work here!

used the gear ratios from the OBX Legacy, weight off of Cars101, and my tire size. should be close, although the drag coeff may be higher...any ideas?

Some Diesel data for the dyno:

Code:
<car>
      <type>09 EDM Impreza Diesel</type>
      <carmass>3108</carmass>
      <finalratio>3.9</finalratio>
      <rollcoeff>0.015</rollcoeff>

      <tirewidth>205</tirewidth>
      <tireaspect>55</tireaspect>
      <wheelsize>16</wheelsize>
   </car>
   <car>
      <type>09 EDM Impreza Diesel S</type>
      <carmass>3207</carmass>
      <finalratio>3.9</finalratio>
      <rollcoeff>0.015</rollcoeff>
      <dragcoeff>0.33</dragcoeff>
      <frontalarea>24.31</frontalarea>
      <transmission>manual</transmission>
      <gearratio1>3.454</gearratio1>
      <gearratio2>1.750</gearratio2>
      <gearratio3>1.062</gearratio3>
      <gearratio4>0.785</gearratio4>
      <gearratio5>0.634</gearratio5>
      <gearratio6>0.557</gearratio6>
      <tirewidth>205</tirewidth>
      <tireaspect>50</tireaspect>
      <wheelsize>17</wheelsize>
   </car>
   <car>
      <type>09 EDM Forester Diesel</type>
      <carmass>3495</carmass>
      <finalratio>3.9</finalratio>
      <rollcoeff>0.015</rollcoeff>
      <dragcoeff>0.33</dragcoeff>
      <frontalarea>28.41</frontalarea>
      <transmission>manual</transmission>
      <gearratio1>3.454</gearratio1>
      <gearratio2>1.750</gearratio2>
      <gearratio3>1.062</gearratio3>
      <gearratio4>0.785</gearratio4>
      <gearratio5>0.634</gearratio5>
      <gearratio6>0.557</gearratio6>
      <tirewidth>215</tirewidth>
      <tireaspect>65</tireaspect>
      <wheelsize>16</wheelsize>
   </car>

All 6 speed gearboxes got the same translation even the EURO5 ones.
So I don´t how to put it best, that this data are fom 09 till 11
Only thing:

I cannot find how to calculate the frontalarea, witch should be differned between Forester and Impreza

[edit:]
frontalarea corrected..
