Is this perhaps the hesitation update? It has a newer cal id and even the copyright date is 2007 verses 2006. I doubt they would use a different rom for the limited verses the standard sti.

Yes, this is the "Surge on acceleration between 3000 and 4000 rpm" fix for the US 2007 STI and it's applicable to both the STI and the STI Limited.

Would you happen to have used a 1.2 cable or a 1.3 cable to pull this ROM? I received the 1.3 cable from Tactrix and have been unable to pull the ECU with any version of ECUflash (1.28, 1.29, etc.).

I have that same cable and am unable to pull the ROM.

Any pointers or documentation on the method you used?

Here's the way the Ec*T*K software saved that ROM. Clark Turner (aka AZScoobie) sent it to me hoping it would help the cause.

This isn't a simple bit shift or byte reversal encryption. Although Ec*T*K has that DES dongle available, I suspect this is a byte scattering algorithm.

How would an Ecutek scrambled rom help the cause? :? I imagine this is what is used for EasyEcu so a tuner can email an updated tune to a user with EasyEcu without revealing the tune?

I doubt that Clark realized it was encrypted and was just trying to help.

Here are some prelim definitions for the new ROM. Use it at your own risk. The DTC codes have not been verified yet. Other than that, most of the new code was just shifted by either 8 bits or 1A4 bits. I would assume they rewrote some code that gave more resolution to the fuel and ignition tables since they were the only tables that shifted. The only table that I saw was calibrated differently was one of the DA tables which used less advance at that stuttering 2-4k rpm points. If you have no idea what you are doing I would suggest waiting until merchgod releases a new def. that has everything verified.

Okey in short terms

We already have def in a preliminar base for the usdm 07 sti

And now this is another one for the reflashed SOA roms

I want to tune this car up, specially that throttle response, in any event what would you suggest??

using the stock ROM that already has a prelimary def made (preliminar) or the new soa rom with this def made??

Thanks

DJ

I'll be adding support for the new revised 07 sti rom (a2uj000j) with the next ecu definition release. Since this new rom supposedly is the fix for the throttle issue, this is the one you want to flash. Remember, Subaru\Denso can make changes to the code to "fix" issues and depending on the problem, they may or may not make any changes to table values. They also typically don't release an update fixing just one problem. They also can make a number of unrelated changes. And just because the tables locations are shifted around doesn't mean they modified the actual data. I looked at the new updated rom briefly and it appears they added a new table, but I don't think it is related to the throttle issue.
