Hi,
This is the first time I tried pulling my ROM out. The cpu file was pulled out by EcuExplorer as my Ecuflash is not setup properly, in hurry I tried my luck with Explorer and it works.
Car model: MY05, EDM spec, WRX, MT
EcuExplorer ID: AJ830-8820
Internal ID at 0x200: A4TE3000
Trying to open with RomRaider, gave definition not found error. However, I knew A4TE300D is supported, I just used Hex Editor to modify the Internal ID to A4TE300D (From A4TE3000), RomRaider open the file correctly and I managed to see all maps.
Question
1) Is it safe to modify the internal string to A4TE300D as my original ID is A4TE3000. As I dont want to screw up the flashing process or upset the Immobilizer.
Or can you help to check..and give support to this ECU. I was surprise that the Copyright license was Denso 2003, instead of 2004.. Or dealer gave me a super old ECU. I bought my car brand new from Dealer at Singapore 2.5 years ago
2) Does it matter to use EcuExplorer or EcuFlash to pull rom ?
Of course, I will sort out the EcuFlash issue before doing flashing which is far more dangerous.

We'll look at adding this to the next ecu definition update. I do not recommend using another rom's definition to edit with as this can cause problems, especially if the CEL fixes do not match.

I did a binary comparison.on A4TE300D versus A4TE3000 .I found a few single byte change(could be offset address) and some code offset by a few bytes(usually 4) here and there.
