Here are a couple more for 07 ADM STi: Code: <car> <type>07 ADM STi (3rd)</type> <carmass>3295</carmass> <dragcoeff>0.33</dragcoeff> <rollcoeff>0.015</rollcoeff> <frontalarea>22</frontalarea> <gearratio>1.521</gearratio> <finalratio>3.9</finalratio> <transmission>manual</transmission> </car>
<car> <type>07 ADM STi (4th)</type> <carmass>3295</carmass> <dragcoeff>0.33</dragcoeff> <rollcoeff>0.015</rollcoeff> <frontalarea>22</frontalarea> <gearratio>1.137</gearratio> <finalratio>3.9</finalratio> <transmission>manual</transmission> </car>

I notice in your definitions you have added the ability to list all gears - but in RR logger you can not select any of the gears. Will you be adding a drop-down so you can select the gear used as well?
Otherwise, I will have to create multiple car categories in the def for each gear, which will just bloat the def file.

Will you be adding a drop-down so you can select the gear used as well? Yes I was doing a little work to add a gear select box. I just need to figure out how to change its contents from car to car. So if you want to add cars then use the new format one tag for each gear per car. I also have to fix a problem were you can't do two consecutive runs without a logger shutdown and restart. Thanks. Edit: gear select now active and fixed the consecutive runs problem, get the new jar from the link in my OP.

dschultz wrote: Edit: gear select now active and fixed the consecutive runs problem, get the new jar from the link in my OP. Awesome, I'll try it out. Edit: Just noticed a small bug. When the definition for a car type only has info for one or two gears (ie. 3rd and/or 4th), the drop down gear selection will list it as having upto that gear and provide options to select gears not available (ie. if there is only <gearratio3>, it will have 3 gears available to select - 1,2,3 - but it should only list 3rd as 1st and 2nd are not available for that car type).Perhaps you could add tyre settings to the definition too, so that it automatically fills out the wheel details (like how weight works). The user can always change it if they have a different tyre/wheel combo. I was thinking something like so (added to the end of this car type's def): Code: <car> <type>06 ADM STi (3rd)</type> <carmass>3295</carmass> <dragcoeff>0.33</dragcoeff> <rollcoeff>0.015</rollcoeff> <frontalarea>22</frontalarea> <gearratio>1.521</gearratio> <gearratio1>3.636</gearratio1> <gearratio2>2.235</gearratio2> <gearratio3>1.521</gearratio3> <gearratio4>1.137</gearratio4> <gearratio5>0.891</gearratio5> <gearratio6>0.707</gearratio6> <finalratio>3.9</finalratio> <transmission>manual</transmission> <tirewidth>225</tirewidth> <tireaspect>45</tireaspect> <wheelsize>17</wheelsize> </car>
Also, did you manage to work out how to implement altitude based on atmospheric pressure (as per my post in the other thread)? Cheers, Leslie Edit: Attachment removed, changes included in def file attached to first post.

Yes it is a bit of a bug, but I didn't have time to fix it. The lower gears not in the def will be populated with a 0.001 ratio. You can still do the run and collect the data, then after select the correct gear and interpolate. Then the graph will turn out correct. Basically you can change any parameter after the run and re-plot, the raw data is unaffected. Quote: Perhaps you could add tyre settings to the definition too The wheels should be easy. Do you have a database of those? Quote: did you manage to work out how to implement altitude Actually it is easier then that as I need pressure for my calculations so I can get that direct from the Atmospheric Pressure Logger parameter. Thanks for testing for me. Dale

It shouldn't matter now anyhoo as I have added complete gear ratio for each car type in my last car_def revision (attached above) Quote: The wheels should be easy. Do you have a database of those? No database per se, but I have details for most Subaru vehicles in one form or another. Subaru pretty much only used a few different sizes for all their vehicles, so it will not be too much effort. Dale np at all Dale. Your work saves me time in excel later, so I am more than happy to help out however I can to get this working bug free Leslie

Great work guys!!
If I could request that Foresters get added too, that would be great, I usually do runs in 2nd gear with Airboy's spreadsheet in my 05 USDM FXT 4EAT
Here are the specs I have been using off of cars101.com
2nd gear ratio: 1.545 Final drive ratio: 4.44 curb weight: 3270
I use the default cd and crr, but the area is larger I believe, I've been using 26 sqft(rough estimate)
Also the tire size is 225/60R16, but it looks like I can input that in on the tab, correct? same with curb weight?
If you need some logs, I'm more than willing to help
Thank you

I created an entry in your xml file for my 2.5i and I just wanted to confirm if you knew if these numbers were right. I've been using it and I'm getting about what I expected I just want to make sure I didn't put a wrong number in... Code: <car> <type>07 USDM 2.5i 5MT</type> <carmass>3016</carmass> <finalratio>3.9</finalratio> <rollcoeff>0.015</rollcoeff> <dragcoeff>0.33</dragcoeff> <frontalarea>22</frontalarea> <transmission>manual</transmission> <gearratio1>3.454</gearratio1> <gearratio2>2.062</gearratio2> <gearratio3>1.448</gearratio3> <gearratio4>1.088</gearratio4> <gearratio5>0.780</gearratio5> <tirewidth>205</tirewidth> <tireaspect>55</tireaspect> <wheelsize>16</wheelsize> </car>

Hi: I get most info from here: http://www.cars101.com/subaru_archives.htmlIt looks like your curb weight is a bit off unless you weighed it. Sedan: 3270lbs Sedan SE: 3305lbs It also says your tires should be 205/50 R17 unless you changed them on your car.
