Ok so I'm trying to modify the logger trigger from the defogger button to a different parameter. I've been logging knock feedback correction. Its basically the numerical output of how much and when timing is pulled due to knock being heard by the sensor. This input lasts long enough to get an accurate screenshot of load, tps, rpm, boost etc. I'm thinking it will be extremely useful to log while doing dyno pulls or trying to dial in a new boost/timing map.
So what I want the logger to do is when it sees a knock feedback value of less than zero, record to a file. When the value is zero, stop.
So after some hunting around I found the logger switchid to be located in the settings.xml file. When its turned on, active=true, switchid=S20
So I change the value to "E5" which I'm logging the correction value on.
Then I found that in \src\RomRaider\logger\eculogger.xml there is the conditional statement that if the logging control switch is equal to 1, it starts logging. Otherwise, stop logging.
So I change this value to < 0
But it still doesnt work. I think the problem is that somewhere else is doing the byte to real converion so that this conditional works with a real number rather than an ECU value. And I cant find where thats being done. Or maybe I'm totally off base and just asking it to do something it cant do. Help anyone??

i'll have to go and check the code but i *think* it can currently only be triggered by switches, not parameters. I'll have a look tonight and let you know.

just checked. it can definitely only be triggered by a <switch> as defined in the logger.xml. i guess i should start thinking about how to tackle file log autotriggers.....
