That is exactly how i built the original scalar but everyone complained about it...


It works wonders for me, no issues so far. I suspect that maybe some of them had knockoff MAF sensors.

I have 2 people with these mafs, both M54b25 that are reporting idle range of 12-13.5kg/hr once warm with the modified scalar. This would be 17-19kg/hr with the unmodified extract from the 350z bin i used originally. That consumption is too high for a b25.

Is your car completely stock other than the maf? Can you do some detailed logs with it?

My car is far from stock, it is a M52B30 stroker, with M50 intake manifold, shorty headers, S50 cams, 42lb injectors, straightpiped, and Nissan MAF in a 3.35 ID tube. I'm getting around 14.5 KG/HR at idle (~700RPM), and around 110 mg/st load, with stock 350Z scalar, with smooth idle, and good cold starts. I was getting around 12 kg/hr or less MAF readings, a load around 75 to 80 mg/st with the spreadsheet scalar and very rough idle mostly on cold starts.

I attach a log file I did with 350Z stock scalar, but this log was still with not spot on AFR's. Very smooth engine behavior though on high loads and idle.

Based on your log, you're about 3% too rich across the board.
Coincidently, after 2.4v, your scalar is also ~3% higher than the scalar I converted from the 350z rom.

I've just very roughly tested a copy against a genuine and found the voltage output of the copy to be about 8% higher than the genuine.

I know, my AFR's are not fully tunned yet. Also, there are small differences between the scalars from different 350Z roms, I noticed the 3% difference you found. In fact if I use a divisor I can get almost the same curve you got in your spreadsheet. As you can see in the ROMs from the 350Z, there is a scalar and a factor, both differ slighly from ROM to ROM, I opened two ROM files and one had 180 and the other 190 as the MAF FACTOR, but, the scalar was also slighly different. I just stayed with the newest one. :)

Also, my knockoff MAF was all over the place, and wasn't even able to keep the engine runing, it just gets worse the more time you keep the engine running and then it stalls.

EDIT. I did some corrections to my scalar as I took in consideration some trash data before. Not a big change, but a bit more consistent at the bottom side. Also I include both scalars from a 03 and a 06 350Z, and an average of both wich coincidentally is almost the same at the medium upper side as yours.

Good to see someone coming to similar outcomes to me then. Thanks for the validation :)

i've been waiting YEARS for someone with a stock-ish car to actually validate the scalar as i only ever run it with larger injectors aswell.

You welcome, I'm glad to help as I have learnt a lot from this forums, I will report back any new thing I find. I want to install a SC soon, so this will help a lot. :mrgreen:

EDIT. I changed my scalar to the one updated and found in the 03 350Z, it works better, more stable, and overall better fuel trims. Now is almost spot on, but a bit more tunning is required. BTW I just wanted to confirm that that scalar works wonders :mrgreen:

i really hate to be the one asking the noob questions but here goes:

If I'm not modifying anything in terms of adding a resistor, the resistance value in the spreadsheet should be 0?

From the base map I have it seems like it accounts for a resistance value of 3

Yes set resistor value to 3. Also make sure you have the tube size correct, both stock and new.

hey Ba114, just want to say thank you for all the hard work and the help you provide and im extremely grateful of you. i have a question though since im kinda new at the whole romraider thing.

so i have a 2.95' tube with the nissan maf 22680-7s000 but when i download the spread sheet with all the maf scalars, im really confused as to what table i should copy into my ms41.2, also how to set my tube id in RR. thanks again!

You need to paste the MAF scaling into a 2D table.
The latest version of RR does not support fake 3D tables with no x&y axis defined.

im not ba114, im actually kinda new at using excel... by the way i had no idea that if i inputted my dimensions into that spreadsheet it would calculated it all to my needs...I got it 100% now though! I copied the chart into the 2048[edit] table in romraider and added in 2.2k ohm resistor into the math too. last thing now is trying to understand what Dshults is saying about pasting into a 2D table? my bad if im being annoying but i dont think i know what he means
