I Drive an 05 Nissan 350Z Roadster 6MT with original ECUID of CF100. I ended up burning up an injector driver or something on it and replaced it with a CM30A. Currently it runs and drives fine if I'm being honest but I have noticed it do weird idle ups and it feels different. I have dumped both ROMs but they required different kernels which leads me to believe the ROMs are not interchangeable. Am I correct in my assumptions? If so, what's the best course of action for using this CM30A in a 350Z? I love this open source option BTW and admire the folks that have taken the time to reverse engineer Nissans code for us.

So the issue is CM30A is for an automatic 06 G35. The physical ECU's are interchangeable, but the ROMs aren't. The G35 is tuned pretty mildly and being automatic, utilizes different logic than the manuals do. (Same case applies to Auto vs Manual 350z's) So you should reflash the ECU with CF100 and all should be fine.

Just for some extra info, there are TONS of Auto or manual ROM flag checks that determine what logic it uses for a wide variety of things. So auto and manual vehicles will drive much differently from one another as a result.

Thanks a bunch Pytrex! This is the exact clarification I was after!

No problem man! Any SH7058 Z/G ECU should be compatible, just as long as you reflash it with your stock ROM. Also, it would be beneficial to do an idle relearn after flashing your stock ROM. For whatever reason, my 2nd replacement ECU didn’t want to idle at 650 RPM until I did an idle relearn. Now even with clearing the relearn, it’s able to idle at 650 RPM like normal. So not sure why it needs one relearn to occur, but it just seems like it needs it.

Everything worked out perfectly! Thanks so much! I'm gonna try my hand at doing some defs now.
