Yea, i think im doing something wrong...

after recovery, i removed the leads from the ecu... rebooted it for a moment but didnt start it... noticed my cruz light blinking... So i read the codes... ( as expected, since i flashed the stock rom, it wasnt happy about the SD setup. MAF DTC, BARO, etc.etc)..., so i reset it...

Then i flashed my last known good merpmod.bin... Everything seems fine so far...
but when i go to fire up the car... it wont fire... it spits and spudders, every once in a while, but wont light up...

what am i missing?

Here the backstory....
bricked my orig ecu... tried to recover it.. ended up shorting it out..... I found a guy who had one, but it had a couple burt resisters... So i replaced those.... then i got the immobilizer programmed with my buddies scanner.. went to try and flash it, and found it to be locked..
So went right into performing a recovery... and now heres where im at...

Im wondering if the old ecu may have shorted out something in the car, maybe thats why it wont start now..., i did a quick check to see if the fuses where all good... didnt notice a bad one...

or maybe it has to do with my previous post only writing 500k..

idk.... im running out of ideas.... PLZ HELP

Did you remove all the wires from the ecu when attempting to Start. Did you use a programmer that physically attaches to the immobilizer chip and download original to it.

yes i removed all the wires before trying to start....

and i had a locksmith come out, and he hooked up his tool to the obd and did whatever he did.... it worked, or at least the security light didnt come on anymore... but after he did that, i had to recover the ecu once again... so i dont know if it needs to be done again or not... (the ecu is not the orig, and shows a different vin than whats on the car)

You can resolder your eprom chip, with original immo data, to spare ecu.

Sorry, missed that. Hmmm. Does sound like a clock issue, not staying open long enough to finish writing. Even if you do get it to write, not having the right immobilizer code, the car won't start. Seems like all the lock Smith did was reset the ecu which doesn't put the correct code in the immobilizer chip. Other than that I'm at a loss.

Rom flash have nothing to do with immobilizer, so once ecu is coded to immo system, you cannot screw it with rom flash.

Is your file correct size?

Yes I know. But as he stated above
Quote:

So it is possible that the immo is fine. Maybe. And I was answering for this:
Quote:
but after he did that, i had to recover the ecu once again... so i dont know if it needs to be done again or not...

If immo is fine, recovering/sh booting ecu/whatever needs to be done, do not mess up immo again. But again, we dont know.

And looking his post with sh boot log, it shows that write has finished ok, at least there is no any errors at the end, so maybe the file is corrupted or something.

So I can move the immobilizer chip from the origboard to the replacement board?

It's gotta be this immobilizer thing, it won't fire cuz iv got no power to the coils... I've replaced relays, I've checked everything I can...

The security light does light up for a second internmently...

I'm going to attempt changing out this chip see what happens..

So i got it started... i still think that the immo isnt fully fixed tho...
cuz that car is acting really crazy....
I dont know if i fried something when i shorted the ecu... or if its the immo
so i have a few questions...

is it normal to have a tune act differently in a diference ecu? (identical matching ecu)??
does that immo ever create miss fires? - all the sudden im getting miss fires on 1 and 4... REAALLY BAD - and its was just fine before all this happened...

its having missfire on number one and four...

I cant seem to locate any issue... so im left to assume something else is broken on the ecu... I replaced those two resistors on the board and they had contenuity when i finished...

IDK - im at a loss of where to go from here... other than look for another ecu... Unless you guys know of how i can try to locate the problem on this one....

Here is a pic of the two reistors i replaced, they where blown out...
