So I,m having an issue with flashing the Carberry files to my car, and I would like ask if the forum members who are more versed with Carberry, to perhaps provide some input on a possible cause?

The Vehicle is a 2003/4 EDM Impreza WRX, with the A4TE100G OEM rom. It runs ok, except a bit lean in open loop, 12.1 ish. Currently around 230 at the wheel, its a DD you know lol.

Anyway the issue is/are, see pics attatched, is that after flashing, the CEL and LTV no longer function at all.

This happens using two different laptops, one with a new copy of windows 7 64 bit over a formatted hard drive and only Ecuflash installed.
The other using a reliable Win 7 64 bit m/c also, genuine Tactrix interface with new drivers and DEFS. Latest ver of Romraider 9.4, using the run.bat file.

Now if, after pulling lumps of hair out, if I re-flash the OEM map then everything is right with the world.

I flashed Carberry last year, but did not have the time to devote to tuning it, so reflashed the oem.
Now jumping back to Carberry this issue has arose.
The only thing that changed, as far as I can see, in that year was the move from 9.0 to 9.4 Romraider.
Now, I dont think RR is the cause, but that could be famous last words.

What is so frustrating is every time I flash both maps, it goes without a hitch.

So once again if someone has any experience of this, then chip in, and dont be shy.

Yours, in hope,
Mark...

Excuse my sloppy pic attatchments (pic virgin).

never noticed the CEL behaviour myself - the LTV info can be a little screwy but make sure you're using the SDLogger file not the regular logger definition and make sure you can actually open your rom with romraider editor even if you're only using the logger.

Bludgod,
Thanks for taking the time to reply, m8.

This happens at all logger defs, the SD Logger def and the non-sd def (non-Carberry).

Strange thing is, it all worked faultlessly last year (Dec 22).

The CEL lights up for a m/s when you first switch the key to IGN, then goes out until you cycle the key again.

Tis very odd for sure, lol.

Deleted a bunch of CB rom files, incase they were corrupt, and going to start again using a copy of Jon,s CB base...again.

I always wondered does N.I. mean Northern Ireland???

Thanks

Mark...

hiya, yeah NI = norn iron :)

i've seen people replace the LED in the clocks with some random LED and it doesn't light up right anymore but may not be the case here. And you can open the rom in romraider editor OK yeah?

Yes, m8.

I can read and edit, with RR and Ecuflash.

It even flashes back without a hitch, 10 secs with a small change edit.

The logger logs too without a prob, its just LTV and the CEL light.

And yet if I flash back the OEM files, every things AOK.

I had thoughts of the flash block being the fault, but then why would the OEM flash back.

I have to admit I like the CB files, the car goes much better, even with this issue, but the lack of LTV

and the knock CEL renders it a non starter at the mo.

Cheers m8...

what way is your knock cel setup though - sorry just so im sure is it that the knock cel doesn't work for you or that the cel doesn't work at all when you have a carberry file loaded up? Also are you completely closing and reopening the logger after switching roms? I'd always see an issue if i just stop the logger - flash to carberry then start the logger again compared to entirely closing it down and launching it up again.

Well, looks like my issues are partially resolved.

Installed RR 0.8.2, and LTV is working now.

And set the Knock-CEL light to , 0 degrees, to check functionality, and it shows up the CEL. Reset it back to -1.76 and everything checks out ok. Logged FLKC at the same time.

Still dont get the CEL light showing up with IGN on and engine off, but who cares.

Seems to be a bandaid fix, so will use 0.9.0. then 0.9.4. in a few days and try them out.

Mark...
