Before judging heard me out.

I found a "good" deal on a NA 2011 Forester, its original engine has failed and the owner just bought a turbo engine and try to install it, but it won't work, and he's trying to sell to me.

I have some experience tuning turbo subarus, but always heard that NA ECU cant be tuned...

But my question is: Is it possible to tune the engine to work with the turbo? Of course I'll need boost controller, etc, etc that the oem ecu does not have. But is it possible?

What you guys think?

anything is possible, if you can read the file off the ECU - find the tables you need - flash the new changes back on and make logs then yeah you can tune it.

Thats sound more or less what i thought.

The turbo part, probably can be done by aftermarket boost controler.

What else i'm missing?

if he's swapped the entire engine out you *could* pickup a wrx ecu/cluster/immobiliser/lock set and basically make the car into a WRX. You'd have ecu boost control, rom patches, proper loggng and tuning available to you then.

as for what you're missing, hard to say without knowing the specifics of what you have in front of you/in the car if its a dual AVCS sti engine that's in it then you'll have to find some way to make all the cams work (or remove the AVCS cams from the equation).

I belive that the car has only the engine. ECU and harness will be from the original car....
