Hey All,

Has anyone looked into how Duty Cycle of the Electronic Throttle is controlled?

I've noticed under some unknown conditions in my ROM, that the maximum change in either Throttle Angle or Duty cycle will be limited, generating a "Laggy" throttle effect.

It seems to relate to VSS and ECT at the very least. As I've found I can only observe the behavior when the engine is fully up to temperature and is traveling at speed, the speed also seems have a large hysteresis value, where once exceeded, the throttle doesn't return to full response rate until the vehicle is near standstill.

When in effect, my throttle can take as long as 2 seconds to go from idle to full open, even if I slam the pedal.

Could anyone perhaps shed some light if they have looked into a similar thing in there ROMs?

Throttle plate opening angle is controlled by the ECU based on Accelerator Pedal Angle and many other variables. The ECU does this by changing duty cycle.

You would need to dig into the ROM and its tables to figure out what is causing the behaviour you observe.

I'm well into total disassembly of my rom and have a load of other settings. Was mainly checking to see if anyone might have been able to provide any leads or insight. I've found what looks to be a table and 2d multiplier for said table that might be providing an initial value for the reduction in maximum Throttle Angle Change or Duty Cycle limiter. Haven't found the conditions to use these tables though to confirm if they match what I've seen in the car.

I'll zero them out, see what changes and report back.
