merchgod suggested that it might be a good idea to get another release out now that the annoying memory leak is fixed and a bunch of new logging features have been added. I think it's a good idea.

There was a few minor issues I recall seeing in the bug reporting section that I'd like to try to address too.

So here's the todo list:

1. Update the ChangeLog/release notes to reflect all the changes in 0.4.2b so far. Perhaps start w/the Wiki entry, or just directly modify the release notes.txt file. If everyone that has checked in code could update that appropriately that'd be helpful.

2. Figure out if there are any other small fixes. I think there was a file association problem and some copy/paste problems as well, IIRC.

I do want to see if I can get the automatic build process working for this release as well, I was working on it last week but got distracted by the memory leak bug.

Anything else?

There are still a few updates I would like to complete in the RamTune test app before the release is made. Besides that I *think* the logger is ok to go, although it would be good if merchgod could have a look at and test the updated logger.xml definition features available (address bit attribute and conversion <replace> tags), if he hasn't already. They are available in the test release I put out a week or two ago.

I probably need the weekend to get the RamTune stuff done.

Ah, I didn't know you finished that. Will do.

Could we add the addressing value for the IAM for the B4 TT in the logger?
Sowy if this is in the wrong section

Tgui, if I can get the Java port source of the Innovate SDK from jjf, how long do you think it would take to implement? He apparantly finished the SDK but never got around to checking it in.

Not sure, I know how to integrate into kascades code, hard part is how complete is the SDK. If its complete, I could hack something out next week.

Another issue is that we need some way to setup these external devices. I might have to add another menu under the logger menubar for setting up comm ports etc.

Not sure what happened to him.. I just posted a message on the Innovate forums, hopefully he'll see it.

Are they enough of a company in that maybe you could phone him? I'd track him to his home phone, but I'm creepy like that.

Getting the Innovate stuff integrated would certainly be nice if someone can find the time to do it. kascade, it sounds like you are up to it?

kascade, if when loading logging plugins there was a getter that returned a jmenu, would that be amenable to you? You could then have a jmenu entry specific for each plugin as each would have their own set of needed configuration. The plugin interface would of course need to be updated. Let me know.

Any word on an interim build? Just a fix for the memory leak would be awesome. There's nothing more frustrating than doing 20 minutes worth of work on a map and then having the editor freeze up and crash.
