I've been working away today on a new feature for the logger which I hope others will also find useful. It is heavily inspired by the work of mickeyd2005 and his maf scaling spreadsheet which I have been using on my own car with much success. The only problem I found was that it was a fairly manual process as I liked to customise the logic involved to maximise my return for my car. Anyway, it turns out I suck at macros and VBA so I decided to have a crack at integrating a similar feature into the logger which would allow immediate polynomial interpolation of the data gathered and apply the corrections over a selected range straight to the MAF Sensor Scaling table in the rom you have open in the RomRaider editor.
To cut a long story short, I've attached a screenshot of the result so far. There's still a lot of work to do to clean up the code I've hacked together and add more functionality but it's a good start - and it works!

That's pretty sweet. To use it, do you just drive around in closed loop to gather data points, and then apply it to the MAF table when you have enough?
I notice a "plugin" menu on your logger. That looks promising.

yep, that's pretty much how it works. there are data filters, which i'll make configurable, which filter out data from open loop, too low coolant temp, outside a given afr range, outside a given rpm range, and outside a given maf (g/s) range. that should get rid of most of the bad data, with the exception of tip-in effects which i still need to add.
once you're done recording data, you just use the interpolate function to generate a "best-fit" line. this uses polynomial interpolation and the order is configurable between 3 and 20 currently.
if you're happy with the interpolated best fit line you can use this to apply the required correction to your maf sensor scaling table (which is open in the RomRaider editor) over the specified maf voltage range.
then you can save, reflash and repeat until your fuel corrections approach zero. so far i've got mine after a couple of runs down in the +/- 2.5% range which is pretty good.

Wow, this same logging and interpolation technique may be applicable to timing and fuel for max WTQ once RamTune is complete.
Or even WGDC to fine tune boost response so that you can optimize spool and reduce overboost in higher gears.
Maybe I'm getting carried away....
Keep up the excellent work and lets see the commercial software companies keep up!

sweet. I just read mickeyd2005's posts yesterday thinking, I have to look into fixing my "A" stored @ -9.3 and donate some data in the process. I've learned more about tuning in only a few days from just using RomRaider to log and then reading up and understanding what I'm looking at. This is an AWESOME toolset. Never had so much fun w/ my car in my life. Everyone I show it to is blown away. Keep it up!

Is there a build with this feature that I can download? I need to tweak my MAF scaling a little, and this looks like it would save me a lot of time.
Thanks!

Look for the link for v774 in the RomRaider FAQ which also has the v785 with the maf tool. Although, there were issues for the 16-bit ECU that I don't think have been resolved.

Yeah it works great on the 32 bit ECUs. Like a charm really. Great tool.

So when you say there are issues for the 16bit ecu's... does this mean that it doesn't work at all, or something more minor? I loaded it up and tried to gather some data, but it only graphed one point for me. Am i doing something wrong, or is this completely not functional on the 16bit ecu?
