I would be willing to help with this, but its going to take me a little while to understand the rest of the code since i downloaded it just last night. I can help with java problems if anyone has them.

Nope, just an utter joke to consider in 2008. Innovate's SDK is openly available. No, I don't code. Yes, I'm openly willing to PAY someone, anyone who can step up and add certain features. Ohh, no, I put my money where my mouth is! I'm a jerk

This project isn't about money nor is it motivated by money. If you are so willing to pay for this feature, why not just buy one of the commercially available packages that will work with the LM-1 (Ecuedit, Streettuner)? If they don't have all the features you need, then why would you be bitching about an open source project with missing features instead of those businesses that are willing to take your money?

I have offered both my time and money to advance the project. If dev's want to be reimbursed, they can work on one of the projects that people have offered to pay to complete. I didn't name a single name, just said that I was frustrated by the sideways tangent development that benefits few. Unfortunately, short of teaching myself how to program java, there is absolutely nothing else I can offer but my testing time and hard-earned money. So I guess I'm stuck.

Again, why would you be stuck when there are commercially available options? You already mentioned that you were saving for an AP v.2. They'll probably release ST for the version 2 eventually, so you'll be all set.

I can’t speak for Lance, but for only for me. I think this (what you guys are doing) is great, and i really like to see it move ahead and succeed.

What is the biggest asset “feature” in here is the “NON-proprietary” non-ECU-locking s*** you get with AP and specially with EcuTeK. (please don’t get me started on those a-holes). That is the reason i started to use openECU and RomRaider.

But if I work on an actual performance car, I end up swapping out the stock ECU and using a standalone. I would love to be able to leave the stock ECU in there, but i can’t.

Well, Ecuedit's logger is like $50 and support LM-1 and isn't going to lock out anyone's ECU. Cobb doesn't lock anything out either - there are some AP owners using Enginuity to tune their Cobb-married ECU without issue.

merchgod,
I have the full version of ecuEdit, but you are still missing the point. It would be nice to have it and supported in Romraider.

and have it support my stock ECU  , i just wanted to play with it, so i didn't have to stick Motec in my car.

I already own EcuEdit logger. And for the life of me, I can't make it work with the newer RomRaider logger defs. So I can log the LM-1 if I want to use the old antequated EcuEdit defs (old load style, no FBKC, no FLKC, no Target Boost, etc etc). If I try to import the most modern RomRaider defs, EcuEdit chokes. Endlessly switching back and forth between EcuEdit and RomRaider is no fun. Unfortunately, Epifan's broken English is barely understandable.

LogWorks, on it's own, works great too. But you can't log a host of the neccesary parameters. Once again, endlessly switching between multiple logging programs is no fun.

The ecuedit convert function doesn't work with current RomRaider logger defs? Did you report the problem to epifan?

Define "current". Release 785 that is floating around or the official version downloadable at RomRaider.com?

I was in contact with him at one point but it comes and goes. I would get 2-3 responses in a day, then none for weeks.

I can import them just fine, but after that, it's a crap shoot. *Sometimes* I can connect and log everything correctly, but most of the time, EcuEdit hangs while trying to connect or crashes with a random floating point or access violation or or or. And when it does work (RomRaider defs in EcuEdit), I lose the triggering function of EcuEdit, meaning no more WOT or Defog logging.

wow. i'd like to say i'd been offered any money for the literally many hundreds of hours i've spent developing the logger and additional features/improvements in the editor, but i haven't. i'd also like to be able to say i do/did it all just for the tuning community, but i didn't. i'm not afraid to say that my motives were mostly selfish as i needed tools with which to further my own tuning ability. that said, i was and still am more then happy to allow others to use/benefit from them also without expecting anything in return. my spare time has become more and more precious to me for personal reasons which leaves less and less time for romraider and my other projects. if this means romraider development slows or stops then so be it. the source code is all there, fully committed, waiting for someone else to take up the reigns. nothing has been held back from anyone. if someone wants to make a release they can, it's not rocket science. who knows, i might be making a release soon with some other goodies that i've found time to squeeze. again, it's all there in subversion, open to everyone.

Another candidate waiting for LM1 support. Right now I’m using EvoScan which is fairly good program it cost $20 and it works with my LM1 but I must say I like romraider better. Interface is better and more quick and flexible. What I don’t like with EvoScan is that program didn’t shows anything unless you start logging, not like RR once you select something it’s immediately gives you real time data.
