I haven't had much time to reposition ASM lately, realtime tuning isn't far off for a full time programmer though. The basics are pretty simple, but the requirements are a bit fetched right now.
Locate Empty Data Space in Base ROM For Custom Code (Done)
Locate Empty Data Space in RAM For MAP Storage (Done)
Re-Route SOA Lookup Code to RAM w/ Failsafes (10%)
Create Interface for Read/Write RAM Area (50%) (Many helping with this)
Copy Custom Maps to RAM Area (50%) (Many helping with this)
Convert Dissasembled HC16 code into user friendly language, C++ (0%)
Recompile HC16 Code into Useable HEX Module (0%)

Just looked at the Motorola manuals for the HC16; it ain't no 68000 -- yikes!
What version of IDA are you using? I saw 4.7 can be found free online, and there's some HC16 plugin available for it...

I use 4.9 Pro, it has the HC16 module built in. It also supports SH7058.

4.9 can't be had for free, can it? 
I'd love to dig into this... though wife decided to pop a little one (our first) out early this past weekend (just got back from the hospital) so I'll be tied up for a bit.

I was going to suggest the same. They also have a version on the torrents you can dl. I don't think you will find anyone too willing to host a "cracked" program.
