Oh I get it now it starts with your target boost and compensates % wise off of that...I was just wondering because I run my Wgdc at 100% at wot bc I have a halman mbc and a gm bcs paired together, Jerod has the same boost control...

Yeah you'll have to ask him about how to set it all up considering I can't even run this ROM :)

it has to do with GPN mode switching :) On top of it you'll get an ignition map change to compliment GPN mode :)

Haha! My test mule needs to try it out before I give it out. I'd rather just one car blow up than all of them :) Just kidding!

It looks like you'll be able to enable Group-N mode(which includes ALS/LC) via the flash block. This switch worked the best because it also allows 2 timing maps to be run. So one map could be setup for daily driving(Base Timing A), and the other for Group-N mode(Base Timing B). One could run a switch to their dashboard to switch between the two modes then. Of course, Jared will need to test the functionality, and the ability to switch on the fly before I release anything, but it looks like it should work just fine.

He's also testing something else tomorrow, hopefully! We are 99% sure that there is a table to adjust the dwell time for the coil packs, which is actually incredibly important even for those of you that don't understand it or know how to tune it. This ROM has the same settings as the 04+ WRX, which has the grey coil packs. The '02/'03 ROMs have the same table but the values are almost half of the '04+ in some places. These, of course, have the black coil packs. Running too much dwell will burn out a coil pack pretty quickly, so hopefully he can get it tested soon. Or if anyone else has a "Jerod, chime in here with the name of the scope" scope, and would be willing to test it if he can't, let me know!

Very nice. Cant wait until the 04-05 rom is figured out. I would love to be able to switch over to speed density and smoothen everything out.

Haha I found dwell time table ( as an unknown to ignition) andy went through the logic and more or less confirmed it - :) haha I'm just the one that finds random s*** and gets confused so I throw it at andy (andy=smart and jerod=dumb but good test mule)

To those that don't know what dwell is- it is the given time for the ecu to allow the coil packs to "charge" between ignition events with a maximum of 16ms of dwell. Its based on battery voltage and rpms - the higher the voltage the ledd time to complete a charge the higher the rpm the less time available to charge between ignition events.
This can and will destroy coil packs if used improperly.
As well as the fact that a coil will only charge to a certain point.stock settings +/- .5 or so ms would be the most I would want ti play with them on grey packs and I would highly recommend that black packs use near stock 02/03 dwell times to further their life as the gpn rom looks like it will eat them alive in a hurry.

Haha thanks but Jerod found it all, just needed some help working through it. All the 16bit ROMs I have looked at have this. If it's confirmed I'll release it for all of them.

Actually I'm having a tough time getting ahold of an o-scope - if anyone wants to help and has access to an o scope test dwell time of the coils. Just let us know what rom you are running - and current rpm and battery voltage during the test - within .5 or so volts and 100 or so rpms.

Results should be in ms.
