Send it to tactrix for recovery. It's cheaper and easier than getting a new ecu. The new ecu will need to have the immobilizer flashed by the dealer.

Ahh thanks man! I had no clue that service existed! Just talked to them on the phone they were very helpful and this is a whole lot cheaper alternative.
Someone told the owner that because we unplugged the ecu, the immobilizer will have to be reflashed any ways, is this true?
Thanks DK

No. It shouldn't.
I know two guys on this forum who had to send their ecus to tactrix (flashed a 5EAT rom onto a 5MT ecu) and they did not have to get the immobilizer reprogrammed.

I've had my ecu out of my car several times. You won't have to have the immobilizer reprogrammed.
